Born on June 17, 1936 in Victoria, BC and passed away suddenly in Vancouver, BC October 3, 2023.  Digby grew up in a Caycuse logging camp on Lake Cowichan where his parents Josephine and William farmed not knowing that it was located close to the highest rainfall in North America!

Digby attended UBC earning a law degree and practicing as an accomplished federal prosecutor for over 50 years, retiring at 80.  During his tenure, he was instrumental in the establishment of the many environmental laws we have today.

He will be missed by his children Tim and Robin, spouses, grandchildren and numerous friends.  Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I am very sorry to hear this. I rented a room off of Digby and shared his beautiful home when I moved to North Vancouver from Ontario back in 1979. He always treated me with the utmost respect and was a good friend. Condolences to his Family. Zane Lowell

I was saddened to see Digby’s obituary today in the Vancouver Sun. Digby came into my life many, many years ago. Approximately 42 years have passed since I last saw Digby, but I will always remember him for the kind, loving and very unique person that he was.

My condolences to his family. Rest in peace Digby.
