It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Diana to Pancreatic Cancer. Predeceased by her husband Dave, who was the love of her life. She is survived by her children, Evan whose love and devotion carried her through some very tough times and daughter Justine (Roy). Some of Diana’s greatest joys was her dog, Jasper, who made her life brighter. She worked for 35 years at Paul’s Motor Inn where Diana’s co-workers and customers became her good life long friends.

Her smile was infectious and she was always happy to see everyone. Diana also enjoyed the many years she spent with family and friends at her cabins at Canoe Bay and later Maude Bay in Powell River.

The family is very grateful to all her friends who sent well wishes and took the time to visit with her. She loved those visits. Diana’s legacy will forever be that in her time of need she brought our family together.

We have arranged Diana’s Celebration of Life for Saturday September 25 from 2-5pm. If you would like further information please email me at mshigeoka@hotmail.com. Thank you all for being a part of our sisters life and for your kind words.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the BC Cancer Society http://www.bccancer.bc.ca/donate

Sending sympathy to the family of Diana. I always looked forward to seeing Diana at Paul’s restaurant on Sunday morning. She has some amazing stories and always made sure my mom had a ‘hot’ cup of tea. Diana’s kindness will sadly be missed my many.

Sending sympathy to the family of Diana. I so enjoyed going to Paul’s Restaurant on Sunday morning to see Diana and hear her amazing stories. She was the kindest woman and always went out of her way to get my mom a ‘hot’ cup of tea. Thank you for all you were and all you did.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Although I lost contact with Diana and family many years ago, my memories are always of her being so kind to me, and everyone she was around. Hugs.

For years Diana was a faithful volunteer at Mount St Mary Hospital’s Spring Fairs and Christmas Markets creating community and raising funds for resident programs. Her happy presence and diligence made the Home Baking table a great place to be. Diana spread kindness and joy and will be missed at her usual post at our events. Our thoughts and condolences to her family and friends.

Diana was my Nieghbour at Maude Bay. She absolutely loved going there with Jasper. I so enjoyed her company, sitting around a beach fire with her Uncle Bill, or playing crib for hours on end. And listening to her always entertain ing stories. I was just at the cabin these last 3 weeks and found it difficult to glance over to her cabin knowing she will not be back. I missed her sooooo much, it will never be the same at the cabin for me. Diana was a caring, loving wonderful woman, this world won’t be the same without her. Love and condolences to Evan and Family.

My heart goes out to you all: Evan, Justine, Melanie, Laurie & Tammy! I know she will be so missed by her family and friends. I’m sorry for your loss!

Although we lost touch years ago I always considered her a close friend since grade 11 where we meet.
We were very close during the next few teen years seeing each almost every weekend. Then We lived together with one other room mate in a sprawling apartment off Deer lake for a while till I got together with my partner, Rex and became a mother.
Diana, then moved to Nanaimo and we saw each other only occasionally. When Diana moved to Victoria and Justine was born, I had my third child Kyle and we sadly lost touch.
I’m So very glad that we were able to talk together before she passed! With deep sorrow I say goodbye to Diana! See you again my friend
    So much love, Lisa.
