ATKINSON, Dean Verdin (July 7, 1910 – May 30, 2006) – Passed away peacefully at The Priory in his 95th year. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 70 years, Eileen; 3 children, Joan Webb, Bill (Christine) and Jack (Cathie); 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Dean also leaves one sister, Laura (Leo) Johnson of Winnipeg.

Dean spent most of his working life in the automotive business working for many years with Gordon Fish Automotive and spent 30 years with Coast Industrial Parts. Dean was a family man and devoted his life to his family. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed travelling spending many happy times in Hawaii.

Special thanks to his friends at Douglas House and to the staff at The Priory for their care and comfort during his short stay. He was a kind and gentle man whose goodness and sense of humour will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of his life will be held at McCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets on Monday, June 5, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow in the Graham & Torrey McCall Family Centre. Donations may be made to G.F. Strong Rehab Centre, Spinal Cord Injury Unit, 4255 Laurel St., Vancouver, BC V5Z 2G9 or the Heart and Stroke Fund.
