David Keith Brumby passed away peacefully at age 49 from complications of pneumonia during a courageous and inspiring battle with cancer on June 5, 2024 in Victoria, BC surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 21, 1975 in Victoria.

David is survived by his wife, Larissa; Mother, Terry; Father, Robert; Brother, Jacob (Kelsey); Nieces, Bailey and Cassidy (Max). He will be deeply missed by all his extended family and many close friends.

David married the love of his life, Larissa, on May 7, 2023 in Victoria. They loved spending time together cooking, drinking good wine, travelling, and boating. As a couple, they enjoyed being social and had many memorable adventures and occasions spent with family and friends.

I am saddened at the news od David’s passing. He played with us on the Tuesday night hockey crew til just a few years back. I will remember his fierce competitiveness and his desire to be the best he could be regardless of what he was doing. He was also very encouraging to those that were teammates and elevated everyone around him to do the same. Although I did not get to meet his family, I can only imagine the love and dedication he had to them and anyone in his life. He is and will be missed. Rest in piece good man. My thoughts are with the family in this very difficult time.

Condolences to the family. Very sad to learn of David’s passing. While not close with David I knew David through the Salmon Kings where he showed that he was an outstanding goal keeper, a good teammate and a quiet leader. Would see David around and always liked to catch up, he will be missed.

My hearts and thoughts with David’s family.

I had had the pleasure to know David as his personal wardrobe provider and as his friend. I thoroughly enjoyed serving him and enjoyed our conversations when we met aside from providing him menswear.

We talked about creating a golf painting for him that can be used to support his cause of cancer.

I’ll miss you David and you will always remembered.

    Dear Larissa, Jake and Family.
Trying to put into words the sorrow we feel is difficult indeed.
David was a valued colleague and friend at NAI Commercial Real Estate. We kept in close personal contact when he joined his brother Jake as an Investment Advisor. We spent many happy times ranting and raving about Politicians and their lack of understanding of the most basic economic realities confronting Canada.
His diagnosis of Cancer was a shock and his battle with this dreadful disease was epic. He approached it with the same enthusiasm, positivity and determination to win as he did in all that he undertook be it in sports, business or life.
He was a Dear True Friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
Our sincere condolences to the Family

I’m so sorry to lose my friend of over 35 years. I met you through Simon Meir, and we shared many good memories during childhood. Transition to when we both started our careers, me as a realtor and you as a broker. You helped me and Strasser buy our first building and we did several deals together. We had a great friendship and I will value that and remember you forever, my friend. I’m so sad to read this and hear this news. Rest in peace, my friend. Your memory will never fade for me.
