Just found out that Dave Perry has been Promoted to Glory. Dave came into my life when he was asked to visit my brother, Don Hogan, who was dying of brain cancer. God used Dave to bring my brother back to the Lord. And Dave encouraged, counselled, and supported me–it was difficult to be so far away (in South Carolina). Now I know that Dave has reconnected with Don in heaven. And I’m reminded of the song:

    Thank You (Live)
    Gaither, Ray Boltz

I dreamed I went to heaven
And you were there with me
We walked upon the streets of gold
    Beside the crystal sea
    We heard the angels singing
    Then someone called your name
You turned and saw this young man
And he was smiling as he came

And he said friend you may not know me now
And then he said but wait
You used to teach my Sunday School
    When I was only eight
And every week you would say a prayer
    Before the class would start
And one day when you said that prayer
I asked Jesus in my heart

Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave

Then another man stood before you
    And said remember the time
A missionary came to your church
And his pictures made you cry
    You didn’t have much money
    But you gave it anyway
Jesus took the gift you gave
And that’s why I’m here today

Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave

    One by one they came
Far as the eyes could see
    Each life somehow touched
    By your generosity
Little things that you had done
    Sacrifices made
    Unnoticed on the earth
    In heaven now proclaimed

And I know that up in heaven
    You’re not supposed to cry
    But I am almost sure
There were tears in your eyes
    As Jesus took your hand
And you stood before the Lord
He said, my child look around you
    For great is your reward

Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave

Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave

I am so glad you gave…

Thanks, Dave. You are–still are–amazing! Well done, good and faithful servant! xx

My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Dear June and Family, especially Dave Jr.
My deepest heartfelt condolences to you and family.
I worked with Dave from time to time at Sands and one could not find a more faithful and genuine person than Dave. His heart was always right. We’d often pray for the families grieving and for each other while waiting for services to begin. I worked with Dave Jr to a lesser degree as he was in Duncan. I found him to be much as his Dad, a genuine and faithful man. My heart is sad, yet rejoicing.
God be with you as you rejoice and cry.

    Dear June and family,
    My condolences to you.
It was a pleasure to work with Dave at McCall’s. He was an upbeat and positive person and I must say, quite the sales person. He will be missed.
    Big hugs from Linda
