Dalores died peacefully after a well fought battle with Cancer on December 25, 2020 in Victoria, BC at Sunrise Senior Living. She was born on April 3, 1937 in Calgary, Alberta.
She is survived by her husband Ian; her daughter Laurie (Edwin) Dumas; her son Gregg (Colleen); her grandchildren Jane, Grace, Jenna Illy(Jeremy), Andrew (Monica), and great-grandson Roscoe. Dalores was predeceased by two brothers, Terry and Dennis and she will be missed by many other relatives and friends.
Dalores and Ian were married 62 years ago on March 15, 1958 and lived in New Westminster, BC where their children were born. They were transferred by Imperial Oil to Edmonton, Alberta, where they remained for two years and then decided to move to Victoria, so they would be closer to her parents in Nanaimo. Ian worked for the City of Victoria and the Provincial Government and retired in 1995.
She was a proud stay-at-home mother while the children were in school and then decided to re-enter the work force at Hillside Shopping Center. Dalores enjoyed playing bridge with her several girl friends, was a member of Zonta, and a gracious hostess for many family get-togethers and also enjoyed games of Mexican Train in the evenings with friends.
Because of Covid19 restrictions, a family celebration of Dalores’s life will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Agency, 2410 Lee Avenue, Victoria, BC, V8R 6V5.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Kladia Robertsdottir-Lewis Please, accept my condolences on Dalores’ death and my assurance that I will cherish her memory, because “What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others”. Dalores left the memory of a bright but gentle presence in the community of Zontians in which I met her, always ready to stand up and contribute to whatever she was asked to contribute.

Susan Tanner We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Dalores. She was a very important member of our fitness class at Saanich Commonwealth Place, and we loved her to bits. She was a very kind, gentle, and caring lady with a heart of gold. We got to know each other very well while sitting together after class over a cup of coffee, and having many lunches together. We heard many stories about Gregg and Laurie and their families. You will miss her very much. Our condolences go out to Ian and her family.
