It is with grateful hearts that we announce that Claire Graham peacefully went to her Heavenly home. Mom/Claire was loved by many, but most fondly remembered by Andre, Phil, Jeannine, Denis, Nicole, Michelle, Scott, Adrien, Lisa, Debra, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and her best friend, Lorraine.

Mom/Claire was born in Baker Brook, NB. Her family migrated westward eventually landing in Turner Valley, then Calgary. There, she met, and married Andre and raised six children, before making her way to Victoria. Mom/Claire worked as a home-care provider for the elderly, then for Miss Fritz as an accomplished seamstress. For many years, she devoted herself to service work, much of it helping others in AA. Her greatest pleasures were music and nature. She loved to sing, and dance, and walked endless miles through the city. She would chat up any stranger, and was a kind, loving, and giving woman. Most notably, she loved her Lord Jesus.

We would like thank Mount St Mary’s Hospital for their kind, compassionate care. We would also like to thank Cathy, mom’s care-companion. Both contributed to making Mom/Claire’s last years of her life as comfortable and happy as possible.

A public Mass/Memorial Service will be held at St Andrew’s Cathedral, Victoria, Thursday November 25, 2021, at noon.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

What I loved most about you, Mom, were the things you taught us: good manners, saying thank you, never to gossip, how to cook delicious meals and desserts, independence, and to love God. You were a good Mom, too often struggling, but always loving. I pray you are joyfully singing with the angels, visiting with your Mama and Papa you so longed to see and awash in peace and your Father’s love. I know you’re okay and I will see you again one day. Je t’aime beaucoup.

I will always remember my mother in law’s ready smile, her singing at any moment and her delicious desserts. She is now with her beloved oldest son Reginald, who welcomed her into heaven; what a surprise that must have been.

My condolences to all those who received her joy and miss her deeply
