Sadly and most unexpectedly the family of Clair Beach announces his untimely death on Monday, June 1, 2009 from a heart attack. Predeceased by his parents, John Ewen and Theresia (Rose) Beach, Clair is survived by his loving sister Catherine (James) Krock of Victoria, BC and relatives in Regina, Burnaby, BC, Langley, BC and Orillia, ON. Clair attended Benson Public School, graduated from Scott Collegiate, took business courses at Balfour Technical School and enrolled in accounting courses for his work at McGavin’s Bakery and later the Federal Government, P.F.R.A. division. A gentle soul, thoughtful and caring, Clair enjoyed many activities reading historical accounts, map reading, classical music, particularly the composer Beethoven of which he was a near expert. A phenomenal memory, Clair could remember events, and dates of family activities or trips he had taken over the years. A good neighbor, Clair was always willing to lend a helping hand if his health permitted. He loved nature and was proud of his yard with its variety of trees. He enjoyed many rides to the valley and to visit favorite friends, the Rumpels, at their farm in Balgonie. In later years, Clair’s asthma presented a problem but he always soldiered on. His church and faith were an important part of his life. He always had time to say a prayer for anyone in need, often composing a prayer for a special situation. As Clair would have wished, enjoy nature and respect it. Be grateful for what you have.
