Christopher William McNutt (Willy/Chris) passed away tragically and instantly in a head-on car collision on February 4, 2021 in Victoria BC. He was on his way to work and without warning was taken much too soon. Christopher was born on April 4, 1989 in Amherst NS. He then lived in Dartmouth NS until the age of 4. Christopher moved with his family to Victoria BC in July 1994 where he resided until he was almost 32 years old.

He is survived by his mother Twyla McNutt-Hill, stepfather Graham Hill, stepbrother Christopher Hill and maternal cousin, Thomas Henry. Christopher leaves behind many dear friends some of whom he had known since elementary school and others that he met over the years and befriended along the way.

Christopher’s huge heart, generous nature, devious grin and sense of humour will be deeply missed by all. His kind, gentle and loving soul will be mourned by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Christopher had a way of touching people’s lives and making a huge impact without even knowing. He was infamous for helping a friend or a complete stranger in need. He always put others needs before his own without question or hesitation.

Chris’s love of cars and tinkering with anything electronic or mechanical instinctively began at the very early age of 2. He graduated from Victoria High School in 2007. His mechanical skills and knowledge grew over time and became his livelihood. His love of collecting project cars became a creative passion. Christopher was a proud member of the Defiance Car Club – Victoria Chapter. Christopher worked at the Brentwood Auto & Metal Recyclers for the last 2 1/2 years of his life. He loved going to work every day as much as he loved everyone there. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Randy Oben, Erin Young and Erik B.

Christopher’s life journey ended exactly 8 weeks before his 32nd Birthday. There are no words to describe the devastating grief and painful loss of this amazing and compassionate young man. Christopher will never be forgotten. His memory and his spirit will live on with each and every one of us.

A Visitation for the immediate family was held in The Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens on Thursday, February 11, 2021. Cremation followed on Friday, February 12, 2021. The family would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank Chris Dorrington and the rest of his staff for taking such wonderful care of Christopher. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date when the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions are lifted.

This deeply hits me hard, that was a truly awful day when the lord took Chris, far too soon. Myself and a few close friends met Chris in middle school and were close for many years. I love you man, hold a place for me wherever you reside. Until we meet again!
