Our precious mother, Catherine Elizabeth (Ralfs) Bosdet, passed away at the amazing age of 98 on July 28, 2023 in Victoria.
She is survived by her four children, who made up the entirety of her world, Cathy (Murray) Coombes, John (Marnie) Bosdet, Nonie (Peter) Bruyere and Neil (Sue) Bosdet. Our mom was devoted to her family. Betty lost two loves – her husband, John Bosdet in 1978 and son, Roy Bosdet in 1999.
Besides her children, Betty/Mom/Grandma/Great Grandma/Betty-Boo/Grandma Boo is survived by her 13 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren (!)
Betty was born and lived in Victoria. She met her future husband, John, while they were both attending Victoria High School. She was an avid gardener and passionate cook. She loved flower arranging. Flowers. Flowers. Flowers. She loved her family.
Always a smile and a sense of humour. Loved to dance, shake a martini (lemon) in the driveway to invite you to park a little faster, make scones and tea. Always dressed for a tea party – dress and heels with the jewels. Picture this beautiful woman running down Cranmore Ave. after her run-away grand-dog Jack – at age 80 or waking up to a bird being tossed back and forth over her bed by 2 adventurous cats (sorry, Mom) – a beautiful soul and a beautiful woman.
Betty never wanted to be the centre of attention, so her services will be private for immediate family and close friends. Friends wishing to honour Betty are invited to take a moment to wish her a good journey to make her smile.
A special ‘thank you’ to the team at Berwick House on Shelbourne St. where Mom was a resident for 8 years. Amazing and loving care of our Mother.
Never to be forgotten.
Your Hug Meant the World
Nobody else held me so tight
Or made me feel so right
No one’s eyes shines so bright with love
As my mom, who is now high above.
