It is with deep sadness that the Lawder family announces Carol has passed after a long battle with dementia.  She is survived by her loving husband Eion, her two sons Chris (Tess) and Mark (Lia), and her two granddaughters Claire and Linnéa.   Her siblings Liz, Marg and Dave made Carol’s life rich in love and laughter and were very special to her.  Carol shared sixty wonderful years with the love of her life, Eion, and enjoyed the adventures of a military wife, moving all over the world.   She enjoyed travelling with Eion by her side and saw many countries and people who enriched her life.  Carol loved roses, watching figure skating, knitting (especially for her granddaughters) and a glass of sherry before dinner.   She took a great pleasure being a homemaker and her family will be forever grateful and proud of her hard work and sacrifices on their behalf.  We ask that those of you who loved Carol to hug someone you love and raise a glass in her memory today.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Saanich Peninsula Hospital and Healthcare Foundation (sphf.ca)

So sorry Eion. As you know Carol lived very close to us on Central Avenue and we attended school together first at Monterey, then Oak Bay Junior High and finally OBHS. I recall you and Carol living across the street from us on Spring Avenue in Dartmouth, N.S. and how we drove Carol to the hospital to deliver your first son..

Please pass on our sincere condolences to all the family.
