Brij passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on February 18, 2021 in Victoria, BC. He was born April 19, 1953 in Sabeto, Fiji Islands. In 1973, Brij moved from Fiji Islands to Edmonton, Canada to attend University. In 1976, he got married and began his career in the hospitality industry. After a memorable vacation on the West Coast, the family moved to Victoria in 1991.
Brij is survived by his wife, Praveena, son “Jr”, four siblings, and his devoted grand-puppy.
Friendships came easily to Brij. He was generous with his time, knowledge and helped kickstart many people’s lives here in Canada. Brij always championed others and found joy in their success.
Brij is best known amongst his family and friends for being a gracious host who could cook and tell a great story. He will be greatly missed by numerous friends and family.

Shara Grice & John Dlugaj We were hoping to have more time to get to know Brij. He had a light and a way with weaving a tail that made everyone want more. Having had some experience with loosing great men, I try and grieve with gratitude, knowing not everyone gets lucky enough to have someone to miss THAT much. It’s small comfort in an abyss of sadness, but it’s something. Loving you all through this difficult time.
