It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our son, brother, uncle, and friend Brian Senger. Brian passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family and friends on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria.
Brian spent most of his adult years living in Victoria, BC. He was a resident of Jeffrey House group home for the last 26 years and the staff and clients there were like family to him. Brian loved to go on outings with his pals in the van. They visited many different places and experienced new things up and down the island. Brian had regular contact with his family in Duncan. He had a monthly visit to Duncan to see his mother, and he saw his relatives for all holidays and celebrations. Family functions will never be the same. Brian’s favourite activities always included good food and beverages. We all know how he loved his turkey legs at Thanksgiving and his daily hot chocolate! He also knew how to get cozy with some blankets and enjoy listening to music in the comfort of his easy chair. Brian’s meticulous nature allowed him to be very good at several jobs that he did with his different work crews over the years, such as, grounds keeping and cleaning in a variety of settings. Brian was well known in many different places in his community (especially Tim Hortons!).
Brian’s beautiful brown eyes will be hugely missed by his loving mother, Alice; brother, Richard (Louise); his sisters, Marie (Charlie) and Carol (Fred), many nieces and nephews, as well as his group home brothers and caregivers. Brian is predeceased by his father, Jake Senger. We are sure he was up there to greet you with a black licorice big guy! We miss you, we love you!
A Memorial Service will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Jim Lauder officiating. A Reception will follow the Service.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to VACL, 3861 Cedar Hill Crossroads, Victoria, BC V8P 2M7.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Alice Johnson So sorry to her of Brian’s passing. I have many fond memories of Brian from my days of working at Jeffree home. Brian loved his family deeply and they in turn were always supportive of him and never missed a chance to celebrate holidays birthdays etc with him. I will keep brian and his family in my thoughts and prayers and perhaps toast him with a nice cup of coffee or a “near-beer”.
Big B will be deeply missed. All the veterans from Panorama Rec Centre were Brian worked out, all pass along prayers to the family. He was our best buddy and always pushed us to do better. Russell, his workout bud will miss Brian too. We had so much fun over the years spent with Brian. The staff that knew Brian at Tim Horton’s and McDonald’s in Sidney send best wishes. Brian did not say much but was loved by all. We all hold our glasses of near-beer up. Cheers Brian. Big hugs, thoughts and prayers to the family.
