Beryl Ruth Dixon (nee van Aswegen) passed away peacefully at home on April 29th, 2022 with her son Kevin by her side. Beryl was born in Cape Town, South Africa on May 15th, 1946. Predeceased by her loving husband Winston Dixon and parents Leslie and Ruth, Beryl will be lovingly remembered by her son Kevin, his wife Lara and her cherished grandchildren Jace and Macy. Her brothers Arthur and Gerard, along with their families, and friends in South Africa and around the globe will also remember her.
Beryl and Winston were married in 1973 and immigrated to Canada in 1978 in hopes of a better life for their family. She worked as a bookkeeper and quickly made many friends here in BC. She loved to play and watch golf and passed along her love for the game to Jace. She spent many days with Macy watching dance and music shows on TV and teaching her how to knit.
Beryl was an active member of Christ Church Cathedral, went to the gym regularly, always had her nails done and loved the word puzzles in the newspaper.
A service will be held for Beryl on Friday, May 20th, 2022 at 11:00am at Christ Church Cathedral in Victoria, BC.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
