Beant Kaur Bhalla passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital with her loving family by her side on June 23 at the age of 94. Beant is survived by her sons: Cece(Suluxna) and Resham(Kamal), her daughter Rano (Pummy), her grandchildren Kevin, Mena, Shaun, Anita, Ruby, Eisha, Sonny, Jason and Harman and 9 great grandchildren. Beant was predeceased by her husband Baldev Singh Bhalla.
She was born on February 28th in the village of Boothgarh in India to her parents Swaran Singh and Bhuli Dhaul. She married Baldev in 1949 and she was carried from her village to the village of Chak Mahanttan Katuru like the queen she was. She emigrated to Canada in 1958 where she set up roots in Victoria.
Beant was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and she’ll be remembered for her strength and character but more importantly her love and patience. She held an open door not only to her home but also her heart. She was truly a beautiful soul that touched many in profound ways and she will be dearly missed. We love you so much our sweet angel, but the pain of missing you does not compare to the lifetime of love and memories.
Funeral services will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 10:00 am, followed by prayer services at the Gudwara on 2721 Graham Street, Victoria. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to the Canadian Kidney Foundation in honour of Beant’s late husband.
