Our aunt was a strong, independent, patient, kind, and loving woman. She was born and raised in North Battleford, Sask., the middle child between older sister Mary Anne, and younger brother Ted.

After high school, she worked for Sask Tel (1954-1969) but decided to move out to Victoria, B.C., a few years following the death of her father in 1969. She then worked at BC Tel from her arrival in Victoria in 1973 to her retirement in 1991.

Barbara was active in the community, made friends easily, and enjoyed many social activities right up until the end. This included volunteering for Sendial, participating in Silver Threads, the Red Hats society and faithfully attending Sacred Heart Church, Victoria, B.C., with her brother and his children.

Barbara was an amazing woman, great friend, devoted sister, and amazing aunt.
She will be missed, and will never be forgotten.

Very sorry to hear about Barb’s passing. I worked closely with Barb during our time together at BCTel/Telus in the Victoria Cable Records. I met her once after she retired, but lost track of her after that. I know she was devoted and proud to be an Aunt to her nieces and nephews. My condolences to her family.
