EEDE, Arthur William – was born in Prince Albert, Sask., on December 31, 1920 to Myrtle and Jacob Eede, who was a respected doctor there. He grew up loving sports and was great hockey player and coach. He attended RCMP Depot in Regina and then joined the RCAF, serving nine years during and after the war.
He returned to Victoria and married Elizabeth. Becoming an insurance agent, he worked for Boorman’s for many years, serving as president of the insurance association one time. He made many friends and his clients trusted his integrity and helpfulness. He was a true gentleman.
Sports, especially hockey was his lifelong interest, as was travelling throughout Canada and the US. His happiest times were on Quadra Island and at Lake Crescent with family.
He leaves his wife, Elizabeth; son, John; daughter, Ann (Scott White); and granddaughter, Elsa, all of whom he was very proud. His family was important to him.
Deepest gratitude and thanks to the staff of Mt. Tolmie Hospital for their devoted care in his last days. No Funeral by request. A Memorial Service will be held at a late date. Donations may be made to the charity of choice.
