LONG, ALICE ELIZABETH (nee Sadler)
Sept. 10, 1924 – Jan.4, 2008
With her children by her side, Mom gently and peacefully passed away on January 4, 2008. It seemed she could no longer resist the temptation to go dancing with her one true love, and husband of 52 years, George (1994). Alice was also predeceased by her brothers John, Wilfred, and Charlie and by her grandson, Randy (1990). She will be loved, always and forever, by her sister, Rose, and by her son, Ricky, and daughter, Judy (Brian). Nanny’s love and attention will be sadly by missed by her other grandchildren Ricky (Fern), Shannon (Mike) and Shawn (Sherrie). She also will be missed by her 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. (Auntie) Alice will be remembered by her vast extended family and the numerous people who knew her and whose friendships she cherished, throughout her lifetime. We will all miss that special “cup of tea” with Nan. Thank you to all of the staff & volunteers at the Victoria Hospice for your compassion and caring ways.
Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2008 from 2:30 pm – 5 pm at 3281 Harriet Road, (downstairs, side door). In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom’s memory can be made to the Victoria Hospice, 1510 Fort Street, Victoria, BC, V8S 5J2.
“Butterflies that hover, near our Mother, tell her that we dearly love Her.”
