IRWIN, Elfrieda (Frieda) was called Home by her Lord on November 13, 2008 in Victoria, BC. She was predeceased by her husband, Ross in July 2008; her parents, four sisters and one brother.
Born on September 7, 1912 in Burstall, Saskatchewan she spent her early years in Saskatchewan later moving to Ontario where she met and married Ross in 1945. Together they lived in cities across Canada and Europe as Ross pursued a Canadian military medical career. She was a proud Canadian and a devoted, lifelong member of the Lutheran church. Frieda is survived by a sister-in-law, Emma Stuhlmiller in Edmonton, Alberta in addition to many nieces, nephews and friends all of whom were very special to her. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Charles Manor for the care provided to Frieda during the past year. Flowers gratefully declined but donations in Frieda’s name may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, 2295 Weiler Ave., Sidney, BC V8L 1R9 or a charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be held at PEACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2295 Weiler Ave., Sidney on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Following the reception at the church, the inurnment will take place at Royal Oak Burial Park.
