December 5, 1916 – August 22, 2008
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Dad, brother, Grampa, Great-Grampa, uncle and friend. Dad was born on Galiano Island. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elsie, in 1982; his brothers, Finlay, Colin and Gordon (“Wig”) and his sister, Dorothy Eddy. Dad was a loving father to Heather (Frank) and Russ (Shirley); Grampa to Paul & Steve, Michelle (Brad) and Ryan and Great-Grampa to Montana. Dad is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Rosamond Hardy and Jean Streeter (Erv), sister-in-law, Emily Murcheson and his friend Connie Brownlee. Dad is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Dad was a carpenter and built his present house 55 years ago. He also ran a successful RV rental business for 25 years. Dad was a tender hearted man who always saw the good in people. His passions were family and friends, hunting, fishing and his garden He loved parties. His favourite saying was “Good enough”. He was an eternal optimist who wanted fruit trees for this past Father’s Day. We will miss our crib games, chats about the old days and his gentle wisdom. Thanks for everything Dad. We would like to thank our friends and family for their love and support during this difficult time especially Bernie, Cherie and Randall and the caring staff on 4B.
A memorial service will be held at McCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets, on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a gathering at Heather and Frank’s. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sooke Salmon Enhancement Society, Box 947, Sooke, BC V9Z 1H9 and Easter Seals, Lions Society of BC (Vancouver), 3981 Oak Street, Vancouver, BC V6H 4H5.

I am sorry for your loss. Please forgive my intrusion Many Brownlee descendants in Ontario have been trying to track our Aunt, Connie Brownlee, formerly married to Ed Brownlee , fisherman of victoria B.C. He was deceased in 1970’s. Some of us had constant contact with Aunt Connie and then she stopped communicating. We have exhausted all searches, we wonder if OUR Connie could be the friend of your Father’s. Pls inform me if the same.
Thank you so much.
