IRELAND, Wendy (nee Turnbull) Died quietly after a private battle with cancer, in Hospice on December 5, 2007 in Victoria, BC. Predeceased by her father (Bob) and mother (Tannis), Wendy is survived by her children, Angela (Craig) Ford and Clayton, her grandson Myles Ireland and soon-to-arrive Ford grandchild, and her sister Susan (Clive) Turnbull Caton. She will be missed by many relatives and friends across the country. Born in Belleville, ON January 17, 1947, to an Air Force family, Wendy enjoyed traveling and living in Germany, France, Washington State and many locations throughout Canada. After college in Vancouver, she moved to Kamloops and then to Victoria, where she made a home for her family for over 20 years. Wendy was immensely dedicated to her profession and loved her work at Helmcken Pediatrics. She was a creative, musical person, a talented needlewoman and seamstress. Above all, she was an amazing mother to Angela and Clayton.
A memorial service will be held at McCall’s Floral Chapel, Johnson at Vancouver Streets, on Thursday, December 13th at 3:00 p.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wendy’s name to Victoria Hospice.
