CREED, Ralph Murrey died peacefully at home on October 12, 2004. Ralph was born in Kaslo, B.C., September 10, 1917, the eldest son of Leonard and Martha. Predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Sybil Crawford, also his youngest son, David. He is lovingly remembered by sons, Walter (Pam), Leonard (Maureen) and daughters, Barb (Gary) Lewis, Cathy (Gary) Sorensen, Pam (Bruce) Brown, daughter-in-law, Carol; Twenty-four grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, Shirley & Douglas Nip, friends and neighbours.
Ralph was the owner and butcher of the “OK Meat Market” corner of Prior & Hillside in Victoria and “Ralph’s Meats” at Ganges, Salt Spring Island.
He enjoyed the Casino, horse racing and traveled extensively. He wrote poems under “RMC” for “Diamond Life Senior Magazine” & wrote a collection of poems for family and friends. In his younger days, he and Sybil would go to the old time dances and square dances.
Family was important to Ralph and he started the annual “Creed Day” picnic attended by family and friends alike.
A celebration of Ralph’s life will be held at McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson and Vancouver Streets on Friday, October 15, 2004, 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria Hospice Society, 1952 Bay St., Victoria B. C., V8R 1J8. Special thanks to the Palliative Care and Community Home Care staff.
