ASHFORD, Vera Jean – Born January 29, 1912 in Kingston-on Thames, England. Passed away peacefully on July 1, 2004. Predeceased by her husband, Art in 1985 and her son-in-law, Hugh in 2000. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Fran, Audrey (Stew) and Wendy (Tom); her seven grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Vera’s life was her family whom she loved. She enjoyed all sporting events, but her passion was politics.
A service of remembrance will be held at ST. MATTHIAS ANGLICAN CHURCH, 600 Richmond Ave., on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations, if desired, may be made the Canadian Diabetes Association. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors of the Royal Jubilee Hospital, R.P. 1 and a special thank you to her family doctor and friend, Dr. Donna Doyle.
