ALEXANDER, Robert Raymond (Bob) passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2003 with the dignity and humour that he lived his life with. Predeceased by his first wife Lee in 1991, parents Jack and Mina, sisters Selena and Dema, brothers Dave and Gordon. Bob is survived and will be forever loved by his daughter Linda Mireau; son Bruce; hopes for the future, grandson Jason Marsh and granddaughter Cory Mireau; dear friend Aileen Alexander and family; bother Les, Jim, George (Mary) and Hap; numerous much-loved nieces and nephews. Born March 13, 1927 in Winnipeg Manitoba, Bob and Lee moved to the coast in 1957. After various professions he found his niche in the carpet business, eventually owning his own store, S & A Carpet Cove. Through the store, Bob and Lee were able to travel extensively to places they both found fascinating, especially Reno. Bob and Lee spent many enjoyable years involved in Saanich Minor hockey and lacrosse where they made many lifelong friends that Bob thought of to the end. After Lee passed away, Bob became involved in dancing where he met Aileen. Although the last three years were marked by poor health, Bob lived his life fully, spending lots of time proudly watching Jason’s football and playing cards and hanging out with Cory. The family would like to thank the many wonderful people who have helped us and treated Dad with so much compassion in the last month since his cancer diagnosis. Special thanks to home care nurse Anne and the wonderful staff and volunteers at Victoria Hospice. Cremation. Memorial service will be held at McCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets on Friday, May 2, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the Graham and Torrey McCall Family Centre.
Donations to the Victoria Hospice Society greatly appreciated.
Dad/Grandpa, thank you for years of unquestioned love, time and understanding but especially for the life lessons you taught us by example.
