Born in Virden Manitoba September 1945, Pat passed away March 28, 2009 after a lengthy battle with diabetes and cancer.
Pat is lovingly remembered by Ken, her husband of more than 39 years, and their daughter Dawn. She will be missed by sisters Norma (Gary) Platford and Phyllis (Ray) Jacobson, sisters-in law Janice (Jim) Cumberland and Susan (Bob) Kolisnyk, as well as special family members, Sigmund Stadnyk, numerous nieces, nephews, and those she has “adopted” over the years. Pat will be missed by family pet, Sammy, who was with her to the last. She was predeceased by her parents Agnes and Joseph Pattinson and infant brothers Donald and Alan.
After graduating from high school, Pat moved to Winnipeg where she worked in various accounting positions. It was there she met Ken through the Presbyterian Church; they married August 23, 1969. In 1970, Pat’s job with A&W brought them to Vancouver. In 1971 she suffered complications from long term diabetes resulting in loss of vision however she continued to work until the birth of her daughter in 1972. Pat fought through adversity and always strived to do her best. Following more job related moves around BC, the family ended up in Victoria in 1979.
After attending college and additional specialized support worker training in Toronto, Pat worked as a Rehabilitation Instructor with CNIB until her retirement in 2004. Since then she spent much of her time volunteering with The Salvation Army. Both through work and The Salvation Army, Pat made many friends who will truly miss her bright courageous spirit and positive outlook on life.
Funeral Service will be conducted from the Salvation Army High Point Church, 949 Fullerton Ave., Victoria BC, on Friday, April 3 at 10:00 am., followed by Interment at Royal Oak Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any of the charities important in Pat’s life – CNIB, BC Cancer Society, Victoria Hospice, The Salvation Army – or a charity of your choice.

Lynne Gallant As I am unable to attend the service tomorrow morning, I would like to say that I was very saddened when Pat had to retire due to another illness. I am glad that she was with her family when she passed away and hope that she is now being carefully looked after in Heaven.
My thoughts are with her family and her friends, although I only knew her as an employee of CNIB and found Pat to be a very nice person and I know she did help many people.
Regrets that I cannot be there,
Lynne Gallant.

Beverley Sincere condolences to the family and friends who will be feeling the pain of separation. My thoughts and prayers are with you, for your consolation, and with Pat, in gratitude and resolve.
When I encounter setbacks in life, God in wisdom and love sends me a message of hope and empowerment – and then I just have to pay some attention. Pat became a beacon for me, a light never held under the bushel-basket, and an amazing example of stewardship. Certainly she would never be caught burying the lump of gold, but would work diligently with every gift, and encouraged me, amongst so many others, to do the same.
I thank God for her, and offer tribute in living a life much more full and worthy for having known her.

Robert Arnold Dear Ken and Dawn,
I share your sadness at this time. Though I have not seen Pat and you in some time, I always knew Pat was in the world and it was a better place for that reason. She will make Heaven a better place too, I am sure. My love and tears are with you.
Robert
