Kathy passed away peacefully on the morning of February 7, 2009. Born in Nanaimo, July 27, 1929, she moved to Victoria as a young girl. Accomplished musician, artist and writer, Kathy played violin with the Victoria Symphony, painted, and published poetry. She will be deeply missed by her husband Clifford and son Edmund.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 1:00 pm at McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson & Vancouver St. The Reverend Jim Lauder Officiating. Reception to follow with interment at Royal Oak Burial Park.
Kathy had a great love for animals and in lieu of flowers a charitable donation in her honor can be made to the World Wildlife Fund or Victoria SPCA, 3150 Napier Lane, Victoria BC, V8T 4V5.

J.A. (Al) Pelter I never knew Kathleen, but believe she must be the wife of Clifford Haslam, of the extensive pioneer family of Cedar. I had never seen any of the Haslam family for many years, but my family, like the Haslam`s were farmers and lived at Cassidy. I am the last of that clan!
Her obituary indicatedshe was a very talented lady, and a lover of animals. I lost my wife in Oct /08. She too was a lover of animals.
So Cliff, If I am correct in the above assumptions, my sympathy to you and your family.
