It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dedar Dillon on October 13th at the age of 86, at VGH.

Dedar was predeceased by his soulmate Patricia, parents Udhom Singh and Labh Kour, his brothers Buncy, Jerry, Mooney and his sisters Harbans, Gurdip, sister in-law Joan and son in-law Bruce. He is survived and greatly missed by daughters Sherri and Wendy (Curtis), loving Papa to Ryan, Kyle and Nicole(Mitch) and great Papa to Isla. Brothers Davey, Ranjit (Barb), Nirmal (Karen) sisters Koko (Tommy), Sue, sister in-law Bindo and many more relatives and friends.

Dedar was born in Duncan and was 7th of 11 children, where they were raised later in Victoria on Market Street. He attended S.J. Willis and started working at Plumper Bay Sawmill at a young age, which he was employed for many years until the mill closed. He then got hired at Greater Victoria School Board and worked there until his well-deserved retirement.

Dedar was always very active whether he was playing golf, walking every day however his greatest passion was playing horseshoes. He met so many wonderful people that kept a smile on his face every day, especially after the loss of his wife Patricia of 50 years of marriage.

Dedar’s greatest love was his family. He was always supporting his daughters and grandkids in all of their sports and activities. Dedar always had a smile on his face and everyone who knew him loved his kind, caring and funny personality.

He is going to be missed by so many people but now is reunited with his Patsy.

We will miss you so much Papa xoxo

Very special thanks to Dr. Kachan, The Horseshoe Club of Victoria for all their love and support over the years, the staff at The Heights for their wonderful care and kindness given to Dedar and the compassionate staff at VGH ER/Neuro Ward. We are forever grateful.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday October 23rd at 2:00pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC.
