Maria Trindade passed away peacefully on October 1, 2024 in Victoria, BC. She was born on July 14,1935 in São Miguel, Azores.

Trindade was predeceased by her husband João, granddaughter Dawn, and siblings Carlos, Maria dos Anjos, Emilia and Virginio. She is survived by her four children Lucie (Gary) Jackson, George Martins, Cecelia (Joe) Gouveia and Johnny (Janelle) Martins, grandchildren Tina, Jenn, Hayley, Trevor (Kim), Delray, Joni, Chris, Tony, Amelie, and Alec, great grandchildren, Jacob, Kayla, Lily and Max. She will be missed by numerous other relatives and friends.

Mom was the eldest child born to Maria and Virginio Pires. She met Dad before he immigrated to Canada. They were married by proxy and Mom joined him in Victoria in 1960. She had four children when dad died suddenly in 1982. She was a devote member of Our Lady of Fatima parish, helping with Festas and singing in the choir, but her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family.

A mass of Christian burial will take place on October 10 at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 4635 Elk Lake Dr. with prayers and visitation at 10 AM, service to start at 10:30 am
