Pierre Rudd [08/04, 20:14] Pierre Rudd: This brings back so much memories of my first stages of becoming a mechanic. I worked for Uncle George during my school holidays.
Yes I’m one who will remember him.[08/04, 20:30] Pierre Rudd: Dingaan Hillary and I worked for Uncle Jorge. I remember he could hardly speak English. One of my first jobs he gave me to do was to take off the handbrake cable from Granny Henwoods Holden. The green one, and sand got into my ear.I got such an ear ache and was scared to tell him. So Dingaan told him. He took an oil can and squirted oil into my ear.He told me to lay down with my ear that was hurting facing down. Amazingly, the sand came out and the ache was was gone

Cassandra My name is Cassandra, and I reside in Durban, South Africa, with my husband, Gavin Fynn. Aunty Thilly is my dad’s (Humphrey Henwood) younger sister.
Uncle Jorge was an unassuming uncle of few, impactful words with a quiet, quick witted sense of humour. I will always remember his shoe size….half past seven
He was so welcoming when I visited Canada as a young person in 1984. He drove us on many sightseeing trips around Victoria, interspersed with sprinklings of his humorous comments.
I cooked a meal or two which he later told me were ‘sharp’ meals. I hadn’t realised my meals were peppered or chillied meals
I visited again 2 years ago. He didn’t understand that I was there just to visit them personally as I was aware of their circumstances and life phase. He so badly wanted me to sightsee, and no amount of reassurances convinced him. On one of his ‘better’ days, he insisted that aunty Thilly drive us (him included) and take us out. Sadly, there were repercussions.. he was in bed the next day, and he still valiantly and wearily made appearances the following day. I was mortified, to say the least, whilst appreciating his good intentions. I will always remember him fondly.
Aunty Thilly, thank you for your unfailing love and care for Uncle Jorge. I know how much he loved and appreciated you. May God comfort you as only He can and give you peace. May all your sweet memories sustain you as you navigate your new journey. We love you, dearest aunt.
We thank everyone who has been in their lives, on so many different levels. Our sincere condolences to all family and friends in Portugal, Canada and Swaziland.
It’s never easy to lose a loved one, no matter what the circumstances.

Annabelle It was with mixed feelings that we received the news of the passing of our dear uncle, Jojo. Even the length of his sickness did not dampen our hopes of a return visit home. He always said, “Maybe, one day.” Uncle Jojo had a wonderful sense of humour. He always saw the funny side of everything. He loved young folk and always had a story to make them laugh. Those “young folk” are now in their 60’s and 70’s. Aunt Thilly was the perfect match for our uncle, both beautiful and kind. ❤️ Thank you aunt Thilly for the honourable way in which you cared for and loved uncle Jojo. Thank you, Dale, Candy and children and our aunts and uncles and all the friends who have stood by aunt and uncle over so many years. Your love is appreciated. Thank you to the nursing staff for the support given to uncle and family. ❤️❤️❤️ To uncle Jojo’s family in Portugal, we send our heartfelt sympathy and pray that God will comfort you all.
