Julia Elizabeth Halliday (Wallace) was born in 1950, Falmouth England and died in April 2024 in Victoria, BC.

She is predeceased by parents George Wallace and Margaret Wallace. Julia leaves behind her husband Randy Halliday, her beautiful daughter Lucia Oram, her first grandchild Layla Elizabeth, and her two loving brothers Kit and Mark.

Her family emigrated from Britain in 1957 and settled in southern Ontario where she spent her childhood and teen years. After high school, she spent a year in Edinburgh at Art school, and then back to Guelph to complete a degree in Fine Arts. Julia worked in various art galleries in Guelph, Owen Sound and Victoria, where she came to live in 1981. After the birth of her child she taught art to children independently and then at Cathedral School.

Julia had a life long quest for a life of quiet reflection; this led to studies in art, meditation and yoga, of which she practiced and taught extensively. She also had a love of sacred vocal music and sang beautifully in many choirs. Julia taught herself well; she lived with grace, kindness and generosity, which she embodied until the end, despite her declining health.

Julia moved into long term care in October 2023 for her progressing Alzheimer’s disease. Thank you to the staff at Luther Court for all the care.
