It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Theresa Roberts on February 19, 2024.
Left to mourn Anne is her loving husband Dick, children Marcus, Claire, Damian, grandchildren Squall, Simone and Luc, family back in Ireland, and a large circle of friends in B.C. and Alberta. She had a beautiful soul and she will be dearly missed by many.
Born in Ireland in a large family in 1942, Anne met Dick in the 60’s and they married in England in 1966 before setting off on a grand adventure to Canada. They moved to Calgary in 1969 as a young couple. In Calgary, Anne and Dick made a great number of close friends and soon welcomed the arrival of their three wonderful children, Marcus, Claire and Damian.
Anne was a loving mother who put her children above everything. They were her pride and joy. Anne was blessed with being a grandmother and took great pleasure in spending time with their grandkids. In the last few years, Anne was able to spend a fair amount of time with them all when they visited from Ontario.
Anne had many friends, many whom she considered family and she happily took the role of sister, aunt and Granny by many who were not related by blood but by choice. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A Celebration of Anne’s Life will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 2-4 at the Amica Jubilee 1900 Richmond Road – Theatre room.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Jenna Barker Aunty Anne was part of my life from the moment I was born, as she was in the delivery room helping my mother, and she remained in my life since then as my godmother and “Aunty”. I’ll miss her annual Christmas and birthday calls and telling the story of my birth every year! She was a wonderful person and deeply cared for her friends and family and her loss will be deeply felt by me.
Rest in peace, Aunty Anne.

Hedley and Liz Goldsworthy We are very sorry to hear of Anne’s passing and would like to let the family know that we offer our deepest sympathies.
We met Anne and Dick in Calgary shortly after we emigrated to Canada in 1968 and spent many happy times playing badminton and socializing with them and their children.
Unfortunately we are unable to attend Anne’s Celebration of Life, but will be with you in our thoughts.
Rest in Peace.

Marg Connor We are profoundly saddened upon Anne’s passing and want to let her family know that we offer our deepest sympathies. Anne was a dear member of a small, loyal walking group that included my Mom, Etta Connor and more recently, me. Anne loved our nature walks and the camaraderie with coffee and chats with her fellow walkers that followed each Monday morning trip. We loved Anne. My favourite memory is of Anne, resplendent in a raspberry red jacket, putting her arms out while on a trail near Finnerty Gardens, and laughing with delight while these sweet little birds darted around her — and at least 8 or 10 landed on her outstretched fingertips! Rest in peace dear, beautiful Anne.
My dear friend Annie, how I miss you, our 58 years of friendship is your gift to me and my family. Your kindness, and thoughtfulness have lifted me up over the years and for that I thank you. These traits I see now in your children and that speaks well of your and Dicks parenting.
The Barker family will never forget you
