Colin “Turk” Armour died at the age of 77 in Saanich Peninsula Hospital. Turk was predeceased by his wife Terry Armour, brother Stuart Armour, sister-in-law Judi Hutchison, brother-in-law Robin Hutchison, his in-laws John and Barbara Hutchison and his parents, Joyce and David Armour.

Turk was a lucky man. He married his best friend at 20 and enjoyed 57 years together, he raised two kids he was very proud of, had a wonderful grandson and was blessed with the best group of lifelong friends a man could ask for. Turk was not always an easy man, but he was a good one. His life’s work was farming the land that he loved on Oldfield Road with Terry. Skylark Farm was his pride and joy. He was always willing to offer a hand, share his knowledge or his farm equipment with anyone who needed it. Turk and Terry travelled widely throughout BC camping and fishing by themselves and with friends. He was loyal, hard working and a good friend. There was nothing Turk liked more than a monster bonfire, a case of beer and some good friends to sit around it.

He had a wonderful life and will be missed by those he leaves behind; son Scott and daughter-in-law Dana, grandson Nick, daughter Suzanne and son in law Paul, brother and sister-in-law Michael and Katy Hutchison. His family would like to thank Turk’s closest friends John, Joe, Ray, Berta, Gordie, Leighton, Dave, Rob and Allison, Syd and his cousin Jim for the support they provided Turk these last months. Finally, many thanks to Dr. Erika Reiser who provided him with such excellent care.  Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Very sorry to hear about your parents passing. I always enjoyed your Dad’s visits to the chicken farm and maybe even to the pub for lunch. Not that we ever did that. He was always enjoyable and a pleasure to do business with.
Will think about you guys every time I drive down Oldfield.

Scott,Susanne, & Armour family; my condolences.
I knew Turk because of my deep friendship with his brother Stuart since we were in high school. I loved Turk’s mother & always enjoyed visiting with her for many decades.
Turk’s passing has certainly severed a very long time link with the Armour family that I will dearly miss.

My deepest condolences to Scott and the Armour family. I have wonderful memories of working for Turk and Terry picking strawberries at Skylark Farm in my teenage years. To this day when I drive by there on Oldfield Road it puts a smile on my face. I remember Scott’s grandma with her pretty braids and Terry and Turk’s big smiles and kind hearts. They treated my family so well. Heaven gained another good egg this week. RIP Mr. Armour.
