Bevann was a beautiful, loving mother and wife, survived by her son Nigel, daughter Vanessa and stepdaughter Candace. She lived a full and adventurous life, growing up in Vancouver and backpacking through Europe at a young age. Bevann met her husband Fred Picard and they left their city lives and began their adventures together. They started by spending a winter in the Cariboo in a small log cabin teaching themselves to ride horseback. Their adventures then took them to the coast where they spent 18 years cruising and working on their beautiful wooden sailboat. Eventually they put down roots on Cortes Island where they started a successful shellfish farm, built their gorgeous dream home and ran a bed and breakfast. After a time, they left the Island and Bevann fulfilled her dream of opening a Spanish restaurant, starting a new life in Victoria.
Bevann was a warm, kind and caring person. She was strong, passionate, creative and talented in so many ways. Unfortunately, she struggled with dementia in her last few years and left us peacefully surrounded by her family. Bevann was dearly loved in life and will be deeply and forever missed. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
