Ann Howard, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on September 5, 2023, at the age of 78. Her journey through life was filled with love, adventure, and faith.
Ann was born to Edward and Margaret Lewis on July 4, 1945. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. Ann was an extraordinary wife to Ron, their enduring love a testament to the strength of their bond for 52 years. She was a dedicated and loving mother to Jennifer (Mike) LeVecque and Jeff (Tara) Howard, and a cherished grandmother to Payton, Joel, Sam, Finley, Matt, and London.
In her younger years, Ann embarked on adventures that took her to Europe, Montreal, and across the United States, gathering experiences and stories that enriched her life. In 1971, she exchanged vows with Ron, and together, they welcomed two beautiful children into their lives. Ann’s career as a nurse exemplified her selflessness, as she cared for others while simultaneously being a devoted wife and mother.
Ann’s heart was most content when surrounded by her family and lifelong friends. Her faith provided her with comfort and hope, and she left this world with the anticipation of reuniting with her beloved parents.
Ron, her loving husband, left a heartfelt message for his Annie: “If there was ever anyone that deserved everlasting peace and love, it would be my wife, Annie Howard. I have found her to be the most loving, caring, and forgiving person ever. Love forever OXOXO.”
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, at the Horticultural Centre of the Pacific. It will be a time to remember and honor Ann’s life, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Please join us in celebrating a life well-lived.
Ann’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, love, and indomitable spirit will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Sharyn Romaine (Hinton) Ann was my long time friend from grade 2. We were friends all the way through school and well beyond. Over the past 20 years, we met regularly to walk and talk. Ann was a special friend that I was blessed to have. She will always be with me. Words cannot express the loss I feel for Ron, Jeff, Jen, Paton, Joel, Sam, Finley, Matt, and London.

Anne Strain. (Drysdale) Ann was my childhood friend right from grade one to grade twelve. In our younger years, our Moms would have tea together and Ann and I would play at each others houses.
When Ann was going to Nursing school, in Montreal, along with another of her friends we went on a most memorable hiking trip north of Montreal. Lots of fun, and exciting adventures. Ann planned out everything, even the night we slept in a park under a tree.
Although we have not been that close in our adult years, we always communicated at Christmas time, and had a lovely dinner together with friends in the last few years. Ann was a kind, generous life long friend. A quiet strength and sense of humour with her beautiful smile. She will be so missed.

Janet Dillabaugh I have lost an amazing long time friend since high school. Over the years she was kind, generous and fun to be with. We supported each other in the more difficult times of life. She was always there when I needed her as I was for her. She was only a phone call away; now, I just have to think of her and she is there — Forever in my heart – never forgotten.

Judy (Bertram) Tomlinson Ann was a special person in so many ways: kind, endearing, loving, witty, humorous and so much more. Many of us will remember a time when she helped us in a profound way. Ron’s words in her obituary are so well deserved.

Leann & Bob Finlay What a lovely testament to your Mom/wife. Ann will be forever remembered and thought of for her kindness. Her smile brightened the days of many over the years.
To Ron and family: It has been such a privilege and pleasure to have known Ann for well over twenty years, through her committed participation in the Saanich Parks/Community Services Group Walk programs and when she brought her grandson Joel to my early childhood programs at Gordon Head Recreation Centre. I loved chatting with Ann and her positive, warm, caring personality always shone through her.
I will miss seeing her bright smile on our Monday afternoon group walks and can only imagine the loss you must be feeling in your hearts right now.
I feel so thankful for the joy of having known Ann and send you all my deepest condolences. Please take comfort in the knowledge that Ann truly made a difference to all those she met along the way in her life.
