I miss Bill very much, especially Ray and me visiting him and all the requests for extra articles to make sure he was never out!! Our visits to Sandringham Gardens, where he took so much pride in keeping it just so. Our time-out for an occasional lunch or home for a meal. I especially miss his phone calls each day about 1 PM and later 1 PM and later. When told he had cancer he took it so well but as the days went by he became weaker. Almost to the very end, he had a smile and a twinkle in his eyes and a smile. Now at peace. Thanks for your kind words Charlotte Ann, Betty, Gwen

Thank you for your comments above. Thanks to Charlotte Ann for your kind words. Mother enjoyed the time with your mom and friends and always said how much she cherished having good neighbors. When Bill returned home to the house on Stelly’s X Rd. he was helpful but as you know sometimes he made life challenging for our parents. During this time he did work at a variety of jobs and was a good worker.
In the his last years, he had many stories to share when we visited him at Sandringham. He enjoyed the gardens and activities there and I think these were the best years of his life. I shall miss my visits with Bill but cherish the memories of the good times I enjoyed throughout the years.

I want you to know I will be sincerely thinking of each of you at this difficult time.
It was a privilege to live next door to your family and my mother enjoyed her times
with your mother, Mrs. Shiner and Mrs. Finlay Betty Rasleigh…..maybe more friends joined the
outdoor picnics at our home next door. Bill was a force to be …..always fun
and an Irish gentleman (most of the time). May you all be consoled with God’s
gracious love as this character is laid to rest. In Christian love, Charlotte Ann

When I think of my brother, Bill, I remember his love of country music and how he knew all the words to so many old tunes from the old timers like Hank Williams and HanK Snow. He took up playing the guitar while a resident of Sandringham, and the garden there gave him many hours of pleasure. Sandringham became his home and he was well loved and cared for there. A true Irishman, he loved to tell stories of his days as a logger in the BC woods and his adventures hitchhiking across the prairies to Ontario and working in the mines in Manitoba. I will miss his wit and sense of humour. He immigrated from Ireland with all of the family except Florence in 1948 and certainly kept the Irish charm and wit. We loved and will miss Bill

As the days go by it is sometimes difficult to keep our minds, hearts and emotions intact as we realize our brother, uncle and friend has passed away. It gives one peace to think that will no longer suffer pain and is at peace.
It has been a long journey for us all, and especially Bill!
It is with a grateful heart that I give thanks to AgeCareSandringham for the marvelous care given to Bill for all the years he lived there. You gave him such hope, and especially gardening. His sense of humour and much more. to the family for their support and many friends. Also, to McCall’s Gardens and Royal Oak Burial Park for their devotion, help and support during these days.
We will miss him. With much love and Thanks, Mary and Ray Gresh
