Joan Curtis passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023 after a long life well-lived. Joan was born in Wallasey, Cheshire, the third of five
children, to Peter William and Gladys Aileen Nielsen. Always adventurous, Joan was a keen rambler and met her future husband Robert (“Bob”) whilst holidaying in the Lake District. They loved travelling together and with their three children, Malcolm, Susan and Alison. In 1966 they had a chance to move to Canada and always felt that this was the best place in the world to live. A talented painter, Joan created a wonderful visual record of favourite spots across the country. Predeceased by Bob, and her son, Malcolm, Joan is survived by daughters Susan and Alison, grand-daughters Cosima and Michaëla, son-in-law Neill, daughter-in-law, Corinne, and many other family members in the UK. Dearly loved, she will be greatly missed.
