Quietly, in my own home and on my own terms.
I leave behind my cherished grandchildren in order of birth: Cristina (Terrance), their children (my great grandchildren) Makayla and Kendall, Jennifer (Michael), Matthew and their loving parents, my son David and his wife Colleen. Survived by my mother Margaret (Peggy) Mylrea and pre-deceased by my father Reginald Mylrea.
My friends and family: I thank you for all the help you gave me throughout this last year of my life. A special thanks to all the Island Health staff, Palliative Care Physicians, the ALS Society of BC and Maid, who made this last year bearable and guided me through the unfathomable maze of our health care system.
At my request, there will be no service.

Kerri Gibson Dear Peggy, David, Colleen and Wendy’s adored grandchildren
I met Wendy when we both worked at KPMG. Wendy was a manager no longer training students and I was a student. We got to know each other better when we both decided to do Weight Watchers. Our favourite meal was Thursday evening after the WW meeting which was a ‘point free meal’. We went to the food fair at Mayfair and ate junk food. A few years later we went to Hawaii together as we had timeshares in the same building. We did that for many years and had lots of fun discovering new restaurants and revisiting favourites. ALS is a cruel disease and Wendy’s type took away two of her favourite things – conversations and eating out.
I will miss Wendy and know you will too. Remember the good times.

Susan Link My condolences to the family that loved her and the friends that got to share parts of her life. Lucky for me, I was one of them. Working together for years and playing together for even more, Wendy always made life more interesting. She didn’t let anyone get away with anything, not shying away from speaking her mind. But she embraced adventures, especially with her family, and knew how to squeeze the juice of life out of a day. She will be missed.

Clara Cuthbert and family Heartfelt condolences to the family of Wendy Mylrea
I first met Wendy in 1980 when we worked for associated companies. We became friends and pursued our many hobbies together, fishing on the MV Marabell and taking painting/other courses at the Monterey Centre
in Oak Bay, over to USA, Painters Lodge, April Point, and Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts. We enjoyed it all.
Wendy had a quick wit and lived life to the fullest. She had a great love of family, friends, opera, pets, and her work. Wishing her well on her journey.

Bertha Edwards Wendy and I spent some time together in our high school days. She was such a caring young girl. We reconnected again about 20 years ago on classmates and kept in touch on the internet. She shared her pictures of her and her mom on vacations in Hawaii. She also shared pictures of her wonderful family. Good bye Wendy. You will be missed.

Jill Anderson Caradine Dear Aunt Peggy and Wendy’s lovely family, my prayers are with you as you say goodbye, but also celebrate the wonderful life lived by Wendy. My memories go so far back to our days as kids at Saxe Point and Fraser Street. Those years gave us many fond, laugh-a-minute memories. Those memories are what I will always have of your wonderful Wendy and my cherished sister, Anne.
I’m saddened to come across the news of Wendy’s passing today. I’m thinking of her mom, my Aunt Peggy and wish I knew how to get in touch with her. Sending all my love xx
