Carolynne Bell Auntie Millie. You were so kind to me as a young girl. Your passion for garage sales, antiques and animals carried into my life. Thank you for being such a wonderful influence on me growing up. Love, Carolynne xo
I didn’t know Milie for that long. My husband and I moved next door to her in 2019. We frequently had tea time and whenever my mom visited, we got together for tea and snacks. But I probably spent most of my time with her on the phone with Shaw because her tv was always causing her a headache.
She loved her poodles and Fred, and told me stories about her life which I found so interesting. Things have changes a lot around here since 1972, she has been here well before I was born.
When she gardened, I would go down with lunch for us and we would chat. She called this place “our world”. When she was in the hospital she always asked how our world was.
When she was in the home she loved Rafa’s visits. She was happy to push his stroller and introduce him to the residents.
I will miss our visits and chats, and her kind, positive, and optimistic demeanour. She was an incredible and generous lady and I am blessed to have had a short time being her neighbour.
