Meiri was born in Penticton, BC to Ani and Joseph Frey. Predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Tom, brothers Frank Frey and Alex Varga, she leaves behind her daughters Cathie and Colleen (Earl Hunt), grandchildren Casey and Riley (Dalaney) and many cherished family members and friends.
Meiri was an amazing, loving wife and mother. She was strong and independent and very proud of her family and home. She was an avid gardener, quilter, crafter and loved to cook and entertain. There wasn’t a page in any of her recipe books left unturned or without a note on it. She was involved with The Ruby Red Hats and with the St. Aidan’s Thrift Shop and their exercise group.
Mom was a little firecracker right up to her last days with a smile on her face and a little something to say. Pretty sure whenever someone knocks on Heaven’s door they’ll hear her say “no bums allowed” and will be welcomed by her warm hug.
A huge thank you to the whole team at The Heights at Mt. View for their outstanding care, support and kindness and to all those who kept in touch during her long, hard battle. Also, a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Chritchley for her support and kindness for many years.
There will be no service but please raise your glass and pass the chips in Meiri’s honour.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Suzie Lang My heartfelt condolence to all the family.
What a privilege and delight to have known ‘our Sweet Meiri’, who was a special part of our Red Hat Group. I loved her great sense of humour which was always readily available. Our earthly loss is truly Heaven’s gain.Your loving friend, Suzie Lang

Jeannette Meiri was a kind and loving influence for me at a time when I needed it most. My memories are filled with her “baking” herself on the sun deck, whipping up some of the best meals I ever had, letting me join the family on holidays and just always being present for those around her. A great influence, wonderful mom and genuine person ❤️

Gail Watson Heaven won’t know what hit…..She will be a force for all that is good. I will miss that infectious laugh and wonderful senses of humour. I am so lucky to have had her in my life. I am grateful to have been called her friend.
We will always remember Meiri for her bright & happy smile and warm, loving personality. Whenever I cook with one of the many recipes she gave me (with all her added notes) I will think of her. She had a zest for life and all it had to offer.
In loving memory,
Corrie & Don Hermanson
