Clive Clarke, aged 88, died peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC. He was born on July 3, 1934 in Birmingham, England.
He is survived by his son, Jasper; his daughter in law, Andrea; his granddaughter Eleanor and his former wife Deborah.
Clive was a world traveler before settling down in Toronto, Ontario with his family. He started his own metal fabrication business, working hard to make it a success before he retired. While he received little higher education he was well read and enjoyed his books, the Financial Times newspaper and Scientific American magazine. He was a loving father who enjoyed playing games of chess with his son. He was also a dog lover, having had many dogs over the years whom he loved dearly. His favorite pastime was reading the newspaper in his recliner while watching the birds on their feeders. He was a gardener who planted many flowers and a vegetable garden. Clive was happiest sharing stories and jokes. He was particularly happy sharing new things he had learned and while listening to and watching his granddaughter play.
A Green Burial Service was held at Royal Oak Burial Park in Victoria on Thursday, March 30th, 2023.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Nick Ong There are no words to express how deep of a loss this is. My condolences to Jasper and everyone that has been touched my, Clive and his light.
Clive was more than Jaspers father to me, he was a parental figure I never knew I needed. He was always there to greet us on Friday nights after school to chat about the week and chat about the important things in life. He shared so many memories and so many lessons. I’ll carry them with me forever.
Rest in peace, Clive. We’ll see you on the other side. Keep everyone there smiling and laughing like you did here.
Love,
Nick

Shane Growing up with Clive’s son Jasper, Clive treated me with respect and dignity. Clive and I would have long conversations while Jasper was yelling at me from upstairs to come up and play when we were kids. I have and will always mimick Clive’s accent when he was calling his son to come downstairs with “JAAWWSPER!” I have always enjoyed my time with Clive and he always had a knack for complimenting the ladies and making them laugh. A silver fox if I am allowed to say this. My thoughts are with him and his family. May he rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Shane

Jackie Peters My deepest condolences to you Jasper, Andrea, all the family and Clive’s friends as well. May the fond and loving memories you shared bring happiness to your hearts, help you during these difficult times and knowing others care ease your sorrow in some small way. I will miss Clive very much, loved his humour and enjoyed our talks over the years. I know he’s looking down at us all and will be taking good care of us.

shahnaz. Hi,
I am Shahnaz working as FDAA in the Glenshiel and new here , so dont know much about all the residents
but one thing about”Clive Clark” is, he is one of the nices person I have met in my entire life.
I provided Clive with a weekly therapeutic massage at the Glenshiel for nearly 11 years. I will miss our weekly chats about art. Some of the things Clive would say would shock me and make me laugh at the same time. Even though he never met my mother, who was also born in Birmingham in 1936, he would frequently ask how she was doing. Clive also grew quite fond of my dog Farrah who I started bringing to the Glenshiel as part of the whole massage therapy experience just last fall. I miss him and send my deepest condolences to Jasper and his family. May pleasant memories of Clive get you through this difficult time.
