Pureza Barrientos Damisa Egan passed away peacefully on March 2nd, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Mambajao, Camiguin, Philippines to Guadalupe Barrientos and Mateo Damisa.
Pureza shared a life of love with Mike Egan in the early ’80s and married in Pasay City, Philippines. Mike introduced Canada to Pureza and both loved the idea of raising their daughters in Sidney, British Columbia. She supported her extended family in the Philippines, was a homemaker, and found joy in babysitting. She created long-lasting friendships from her time working at Scotty Plastic, Comfort Keepers, and being a part of the St. Elizabeth Church & Filipino community.
Our memories of her generosity, sense of humor, singing karaoke, playing mahjong, gardening, and love for her family & friends will always be with us. She is survived by her two daughters, Sheriel and Earlaine; her son, Eduardo; and her five grandchildren.
Pureza was predeceased by her husband Mike and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
