It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our darling dad, Basil Thomas Pharaoh, February 14, 2023 at the age of 90. Dad was predeceased by our Mum, Mollie, the love of his life and by his sister Anna who he missed terribly.
Baz had a great career in the Air Force, dabbled in real estate, was an avid golfer, a mason for many years, loved singing Barbershop and was a wonderful Dad. He and our Mum travelled the world together and were always up for an adventure. Baz was loved by everyone he met. He always had a smile, a story, and a song. If you knew him you are smiling.
He is survived by his two adoring daughters, his 6 grandchildren, his 5 great grandchildren and his beloved partner Winnie Jackson who joined him on his journey through life in his later years.
Dad loved a good time so we are asking anyone who knew and loved him to join us for a Celebration of Life on March 28, 2023, at 2:00pm, in the Sequoia Centre, at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC.

Allan Jacques Heartfelt condolences to Bas’ family and Winnie. I first met Bas in the back row of the risers when I joined the Victoria Village Squires barbershop chorus in 2005. Bas was assigned to guide me. His enthusiasm for singing was obvious, and his voice will not be forgotten. Over the years Bas continued to regularly attend chorus rehearsals even when not performing with the chorus (now known as South Island Harmony). Over the years Bas served the chorus in a variety of roles, including as Chapter President in 1977. He was also a regular quartet singer.
We shall always remember Bas’ love of telling stories – from his love of family to his fortunate escape in the mid-air collision and his singing adventures.

Peter Giles Baz and I served on 407 Squadron in Comox and we lived around the corner from each other ‘on the Bay’.
Always a professional on the job and a warm humour with him always. Enjoyed remembering Air Force times at the VIAA. RIP my friend. Pete Giles

Di Cameron Baz & Mollie were our neighbors on Westover place.
I loved going over with my dad to visit with both of them.
They were a big part of our childhood, such wonderful people.
My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Colleen baldwin Uncle Baz was my favorite uncle and I always told him this when we saw each other over the years. He brought back memories of my Mom as we shed a tear and had a laugh. Bas and I worked in recruitment in Victoria. Because of Bas’ influence, I chose real estate as a second career. Both he and Mollie were great people. I’m sorry for your loss.
