Born on May 13, 1958 in Cheboksary, Russia, Galina passed away suddenly at home on December 26, 2022. She is survived by her loving husband Ken, son Serge, and mother Alevtina. She was predeceased by her father, Petr.
Galina was an accomplished pianist, who taught at the Pavlov Cheboksary Musical College for over 20 years. She later moved to Canada to establish a new life for herself and Serge. Galina was incredibly proud of her son for his success at university in Canada and his continuing graduate studies while establishing his international career.
In 2001, Galina was hired as the organist for Grace Lutheran Church where she met her husband Ken. Together they created a home that included a private music studio, which allowed her to continue her love of teaching piano. Some of the final messages she received from her students before her passing were words of appreciation for being the best music teacher and a kind, beautiful woman. She will be missed.
Graveside Service will be held at Royal Oak Burial Park on January 6, 2023 at 1:00pm, followed by a funeral service at McCall Gardens’ Sequoia Centre (4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria BC) to begin at 2:00pm.

Yuliya Braaten Dear Ken, Serge!
Please accept my condolences.
Galina taught my kids music for a few years. She had the love and patience to teach little kids and they were totally fascinated by her.
What an amazing woman! She will be remembered forever by everyone who knew her for her kindness, patience and talent.
Beautiful life cut too short.
Dear Serge
My deepest sympathies for your loss.
