Born on April 20, 1936 in London ON, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2022.
Jim is survived by his wife Shizue, his daughter Rebecca (Mike) and grandson David, his brother Robert (June), his sisters Jo (Bruce) and Connie (Red). He was predeceased by his daughter Sara in 2016. He will be missed by family members, friends and Geography colleagues. Jim was a Geography professor at the University of Toronto doing research in Canadian Urban Systems; in 1995, he and his wife moved to Victoria where he continued working with the Centre for Studies of Commercial Activities. In Victoria, he enjoyed traveling around the city and working in the garden.
A heartfelt thank you for care received from the nurses and caregivers at Hart House.
Visitation will be held at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 10:00 am followed by interment at 12:00 pm at Ross Bay Cemetery. Tributes, if desired, may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
