My Auntie Eileen was a lady who through all the physical pain she suffered continued to be determined to do the things in life that made her happy. She was a great cook and entertainer of her friends and family and was giving and generous of heart. I remember our very interesting phone calls where she wanted news of everyone. Her faith in God was strong and gave her great comfort particularly when she lost her husband Rocco, the love of her life. Her devotion to her native Ireland and the Irish people never diminished over the years and she loved news of the political and social life of the country. She is finally at rest reunited with Rocco, and free from pain. We have our memories to sustain us. May she rest in peace.

I only met Eileen through my role as a volunteer at Mt. St. Mary’s a few years ago but I had some good times with her – being from Co. Galway helped! I took her shopping & often popped in just to say hello. I will miss her. Suaimhneas Síoraí (Rest in Peace) Eileen.

Dear Jack and Jeannine and all the Fantetti’s and Gannons,

So saddened to hear of Eileen’s passing. When Katie and I visited with Gran (Marie Landells) in 2002 and stayed at Eileen and Rocco’s house for 3 weeks, this was a memorable and extremely special trip in which we got to meet and get to know our great aunt and uncle. Seeing how they lived and their devotion to their swimming, organic produce from the garden as well as cherishing their many friends had a profound effect on me. I was truly devastated when Rocco sadly passed in 2006 (he gave me a lot of confidence at a time when I needed it). I am happy Eileen continued to swim and lead an active life. She indeed was a force to be reckoned with and famously strong willed. She will be missed. Rest in peace Eileen.

Phil, Becca (my wife) and Georgina and Tom (children)
