Gordie passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022 after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born in Victoria, BC, the only child of his deceased parents, Clifford and Ethel Richards. He is survived by his loving wife, Doreen.
Gordie graduated after a 5-year course in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. In the 70’s, he went on to be the successful business owner of Cascade Refrigeration Air Conditioning Ltd until his retirement in the late 80’s. Retirement was enjoyed in both BC and Arizona, flying as a Snow Bird in Green Valley, Arizona, golfing and enjoying the many American friends he and Doreen made together. Other hobbies included sport shooting, hunting and fishing with his friends and his long membership with the South Vancouver Island Rangers.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 10:00 am with a reception to follow.
