In loving memory…

Brigitte Ullrich died peacefully in the early morning of September 17, 2022 in Victoria, B.C.

Brigitte was predeceased by her brother, Georg and sister, Elizabeth (Kiki).  She will be greatly missed by her husband, Rolf; her four children, Susanne (Kenton), Annette (Jozef), Karl (Liz) and Stefanie (Tim); and 9 grandchildren (Nicholas, Alexander, Tatiana, Josephine, Emma, Heidi, Olivia, Genevieve and Andreas).

Brigitte was born on June 23, 1927, in Kiel, Germany.  She had a remarkable life.  She lived through the second World War, earned a degree as a Medical Technical Assistant and immigrated to Canada in 1956 to marry Rolf Ullrich – her loving husband of 66 years.  She worked with her husband in creating a successful family business and raising four children.  She was an independent thinker, incredibly hard worker, possessed a wonderful sense of style, loved to laugh and had endless love for her family.  She was an extraordinary role model for all who knew her.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all those at Broadmead Veterans Memorial Lodge who took such great care of our mom.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, B.C.  For those who wish, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada (https://alzheimer.ca/en) would be appreciated.

Karl, Susanne, Annette and Stefanie, please accept my condolences for the loss of your mom. I recall during my teenage and early 20’s years being around your mom when Karl and I would hang out waterskiing. Your mom was always so gracious and welcoming, inviting me in and offering for me to stay for a meal. Losing a mom is always very difficult however be assured that your mom made a positive impression through her life.
