Lillian passed away peacefully the morning of July 1st at Veterans Memorial Lodge with family by her side.
She was born in Trochu, Alberta and was raised in Goodridge, Alberta. At the age of 18, Lillian joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served 3 years during the war as a nurse. She met the love of her life, Norm, in Edmonton after her military service. After they were married, they went to Halifax before settling in their forever home in Esquimalt, a home they built together. They only left that home once to live in England for two years when Norm was assigned to a submarine base there.
Lillian was predeceased by Norm in 2012. She leaves behind her sons, Ken {Laura}, David {Colleen} and daughter Pat; also her grandchildren Robert {Charlynne}, Amy {Kyle}, Katie {Ryan} and Malcolm, and great-granddaughters Charlie and Nora with whom she enjoyed a lovely visit not long before her passing.
Lil always had a smile on her face that could brighten anyone’s day. Her caring, loving nature will be truly missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life was held in Lillian’s honour in the Sequioa Center, at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC, Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA or Veterans Memorial Lodge in Victoria would be appreciated. Those wishing to attend via Zoom, the link is below:

Paul and Myrna Lemay We greatly appreciated being able to participate in the memorial for Lillian through Zoom. The service was definitely geared to Lillian. The repeated themes highlighted beautifully the beautiful human characteristics of our dear cousin. We enjoyed several visits with Lil and Norm and later with Lil at the seniors residence. It was always a cheerful and uplifting experience.
We wish to extend our sincere condolences to Ken, David, Pat and families.
It was good to see several of the Tony and Yvonne Joly family (nieces and nephews) as participants in the Zoom. Our shared sympathy with all of you as well.
Lillian, we were blessed by your life.
