With profound sadness we announce the passing of Silvana Vilma Zeriali (Žerjal). Born in Boljunec, Italy to Marija and Emil Žerjal, she immigrated to Canada in 1955 and proudly received her citizenship in 1961.
She loved to travel within North America and Europe, was a bowling champion, an avid gardener, loved phoning family and friends, and kept a meticulous home. Vilma was a dedicated housekeeping employee at Chemainus General Hospital until her retirement.
After moving to Sidney in November 2019, she appreciated her time at Amica Beechwood Village as she bonded with residents and staff, and enjoyed winning at bingo.
Vilma is the last member of the Žerjal generation: predeceased by her parents, sisters Angela and Mira, and her brother Emil.
Our Teta was a cheerful, kind, generous, and sweet soul and will be greatly missed by those who mourn her death: nieces Mary Hill and family (Bill, Angela, Nicholas), Sonja Gregori, Nadia Mahic and family (Miro, Erik, Sara); and dear friends here and overseas.
The family wishes to thank Dr. P. Manhas (Chemainus) for his excellent and kind care over the years, the Amica team for their support, and the Saanich Peninsula Hospital ER staff.
Though gone from our lives to rest in peace with the Lord, Teta will always remain in our hearts.
A private interment service will be held at Royal Oak Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Vilma’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Draga teta Vilma, zdaj ste vsi skupaj. Tvoj lepi nasmeh in pozitivni pogled na življenje bosta vedno živa v mojem srcu.
I was saddened to hear of Vilma’s passing. Stephanie and I enjoyed her as a neighbour for many years. It is my hope that she enjoyed her last years. Tony
