After a brief illness, Elizabeth (Betty) King Macintyre, in her 92nd year, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2021 in Victoria BC with family at her side. Predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Christina Macintyre; brother Jack (Jeanette) Macintyre. Survived by her sister Margaret Jones (Albert), nieces and nephews Loree, Richard, Lynne, Ian, Neil and their families. Betty was born, raised, and proudly lived her entire life in the neighbourhood of James Bay, Victoria, BC.
At the age of 16, she began a 35-year career with the BC Ministry of Vital Statistics. Betty was an avid animal and nature lover who travelled and camped throughout BC. She was an elegant lady who possessed a great sense of humour. Thank you to all the wonderful nurses, doctors, and care aides at the Royal Jubilee Hospital who made Betty’s final days so comfortable.
Betty has requested that there be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA or local charities of choice.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

FORBES FAMILY We had the pleasure of spending thanks giving with Aunt Betty a couple years ago. She is such an amazing person.
I’m a former next door neighbour of Betty’s and am really sorry to hear of her passing. We became quick friends and I just loved to hear her stories of travelling through BC and growing up in James Bay. She was such a shining light.
